Yummy things for mummies…

01cf0141bd5317db5e66d4d118d15edc22ae60f54fIt’s my first mother’s day this year…

…And while I’ve always been the one looking for gifts, this year I’ll hopefully be the one getting some too. Though, honestly – and I don’t mean to be cliched when I say this – this face in the morning is really gift enough….

Still, nice things are always nice to have, so I’ve rounded up my Mummy wishlist of lovely things for all price brackets…

Bags of Style: If there was one bag that defined the last couple of years, it’s been the Aspinal Marylebone Tote. Desired by fashionistas – and normal people – everywhere, they now come in a range of colours and skins. This divine version in Deer Saffiano is effortlessly chic and will age well. Get it initialled in gold for added oomph. (Marylebone Tote in Deer Saffiano, £895, Aspinal of London)

Light my Style: Diptyque don’t do much marketing – why would they when their brand name is so revered? And with good reason. The candles smell amazing, last for ages and just the sight of a Diptyque candle flickering quietly on a coffee table adds a certain class to the proceedings. Their The and Baies are the most loved but I am a real fan of the sweet, warm Jasmin scent too (Diptyque Candle in Jasmin, £45, Space NK, Cheltenham)

Home Style: This gorgeous bowl is such a warm but gentle colour it will enhance the most out-there of decors, and lends a really smart look to a windowsill or mantelpiece. (Rosaline Mouth Blown Glass Bowl, £59, lizardorchid.com)

Pamper in Style: If there is one thing that makes me happy, it’s sinking into a bath filled to the brim with hot water and this world-class oil from Aromatherapy Associates. The intoxicating scent instantly calms the nerves and the healing effects of the essentials oils gently soothe away tired limbs and minds. (Deep Relax Bath and Shower Oil, £40, Aromatherapy Associates)

Sunday Style: Jo Malone do a great line in limited edition ranges, and their Just Like Sunday range – which conjured memories of tomato and eggs, newspapers, black coffee, log fires and long walks – was inspired. So much so, that they’ve kept some of the scents on permanently. This one is my favourite. It fills the room with heady, oakey warmth. (Incense & Embers Candle, £40, Jo Malone, Cheltenham)
